Sandra K. Enman, CPA, CFP®, CVA

Sandy received a B.S. from the University of Illinois in 1972 and began working in public accounting in 1979. The experience received in her ten-year term as an employee of a larger Vermont firm includes a wide variety of tasks ranging from tax returns to large audits. She is a member of the Vermont Society of CPAs, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Business Appraisers, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. As a Certified Financial PlannerŪ and Certified Valuation Analyst, Sandy uses an innovate, practical, broad-based approach to assist clients in determining their long-range financial goals and devising the plans to achieve them.

Sandy and her husband, David, have lived in Vermont since 1977. They have two grown children. Most of their free time is spent running or skiing, depending on the season. She is a former board member of the Vermont Children's Trust Foundation and an active board member of the Champlain College Planned Giving Committee.

Thomas R. Mahar, CPA, CVA

Tom received his B.S. from Castleton State College in 1985. He entered the public accounting profession in 1987, where he remained for three years before working in the private sector. While in the private sector, Tom worked for a petroleum distributor and in the ski/hospitality industry, gaining extensive knowledge in each of these diverse areas. Tom joined Enman & Associates, P.C., in November of 1993. He concentrates his practice in small business operations, providing tax, accounting and computer consultation services to the business client base Enman & Associates serves. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Vermont Society of CPAs, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Tom is a Vermont native, currently residing in Shelburne with his wife, Dawn and their two children, Jack and Emma. He enjoys being involved in a number of seasonal activities in Vermont, particularly golfing, biking and tennis.

Sherry C. Dempsey, CPA

Sherry returned to Champlain College in 1994 to receive her accounting certification after working for over 15 years in the administrative field. As a traditional undergraduate, she received an Associate's Degree in Secretarial Science from Champlain College and a B.S. from Trinity College where she majored in Business Education. Sherry is a member of the Vermont Society of CPAs, the Vermont Tax Practitioner's Association, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Sherry completed the Cannon Financial Institute's Trust Tax School. Cannon is the country's leading trainer and advisor to the Trust, Private Banking, and Investment Management industry. Sherry specializes in trust and estate work, including planning and administration, probate, estate and income taxes. She also has experience with individual taxes and financial planning as well as a variety of business entity financial services.

Sherry lives in Burlington and is a native Vermonter who enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Patricia S. Waite

Pat serves as the Office Manager for Enman & Associates and also directly serves our clients in the areas of tax preparation, bill paying assistance, payroll preparation, and management advisory services. Pat is a key multi-state income tax return preparer. She attended Green Mountain College, where she graduated in 1976. She has been with the firm since its inception in 1987.

David W. Webster

David has been with Enman & Associates since late 2003 and serves as a Staff Accountant for our firm. David joined the team after having operated a successful restaurant for nineteen years in Vermont. He holds a BA in History and an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Vermont and has completed the course requirements for the CPA exam.

David, a resident of Shelburne, Vermont, is an active participant of the community. He is a Justice of the Peace and Chairman of the Board of Civil Authority for the Town of Shelburne.

Connie Doherty

Connie joined our team as a paraprofessional with 25 years of experience in office management, corporate compliance, and accounting. She holds a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Management, and Marketing from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Connie resides in Richmond, Vermont where her husband and their teenagers enjoy the serenity of Vermont's picturesque landscape.

Susan M. Turner

Sue joined the firm in 2003, providing both administrative support and tax preparation services. She comes to us with a diverse professional background. She lives in St. George with her husband, David, and enjoys exercise, reading, traveling, singing and relaxing.

April C. Blank

In the fall of 2006, April began her employment with Enman & Associates as a Staff Accountant. She comes to our firm with eleven years of professional experience acquired while working in the financial management office of a large, wealthy family, and in the trust and estate departments of two Chicago law firms. In these positions, she prepared financial statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and assisted in the preparation of a variety of income tax returns. April holds a B.S. in Commerce, with a major in Finance from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.

April lives in Jericho with her husband and two small children. They spend as much time as they can enjoying a variety of outdoor activities. They are active members of the Jericho United Methodist Church.

Sarah E. Powell

Sarah received her B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1987 and her M.B.A. from New York University in 1992. She worked in corporate finance in New York City for 10 years and briefly for Bombardier Corporation in Colchester when she initially moved to Vermont 10 years ago. Sarah joined Enman and Associates in 2006 and provides support in a variety of areas including tax, trust, financial planning and administrative. Sarah lives in Williston and enjoys a variety of activities with her young children.
